The processor, Lisa Hill, was uncomfortable and stressful to work with. Ms. Hill would require an excessive and superfluous amount of confirmatory paperwork, beyond what was necessary (this opinion was shared by our own bank managers and various credit agencies) in the name of creating the most “complete” file. Initially, this was understandable as we thought it was part of the process, to be running around feverishly for every scrap of evidence and paper trail to show where every dollar of our down payment came from, but it truly became absurd after being requested to show evidence of withdrawals for even credit card bills, beyond the $0.00 credit card statements. However, ultimately, it was her curt and short tempered manners that turned us off and even consider another lender. The most glaring example was when she sent a message about a credit card bill instructing us to “Provide a recent statement(s) for the following account as it needs to be paid off at closing”. Our interpretation was to bring our pay off statement to her or at the closing. However, when I informed her that we had a paid off balance paperwork, she raised her voice at me over the phone and demanded further statements from my bank, showing the withdrawals to pay that credit card bill and credit bureau reports on top of the pay off statement that we provided. She raised her voice stating that we should have cut a check to another loan officer at the date of signing that pays off the credit card balance, which is neither obvious, nor descriptive in her communications.
This example illustrates the break down of communication, interpersonal and case managment skills of our experience with Lisa Hill.
Otherwise, our experience with Chris Gallo was reassuring and always expedient. We feel that even if/when our mortgage is taken over by a third party, we will always get the best counsel from Chris Gallo about our mortgage.
